2006 chrystler T & C

Asked by Mattskeeper Jul 04, 2018 at 07:21 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Chrystler town and country 3.3
L V6. A few days ago I tried to leave for work -
started the car it killed (repeated 3 times
before going get my husband) . He started
the van and again it killed two times before it
wouldn't turn over at all. Just Nothing.. he hit
the starter with a screw driver from under the
van and it rolls over but wont start. We have
checked the alternator, the fuel pump, we
changed the crank shaft position sensor and
the cam shaft position sensor - still nothing.. I
read a lot of people were having trouble with
the wire harness chaffing on the transmission
but I don't see any damage. Also, there is a
solid red dot on my dash that was never there
before. Any ideas or help would be much
appreciated.. I can't afford a mechanic and I
rely on my vehicle to work. Thanks!

The solid red dot...what does the owner's manual say? It may be related to a theft deterrent system. I've heard you can leave the key on for several minutes and it may reset itself.
