Find outside driver's side mirror plug in for new replacement

Asked by Jun 22, 2017 at 06:31 PM about the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country Limited AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am replacing mirror and when pulled old wiring out to unplug, it was already unplugged and now I can't find the plug in.  I have reviewed many videos, did reading and spent hours trying to see the plug it needs to attach to.  I have a dear uncle who purchased this mirror setup for me and asked me to bring it over and he'd install it.  He is recovering from a stroke, paralyzed on one side and in wheelchair but insisted he could do this so I took it.  The first thing he did after getting the mirror screws out was to start pulling on the old mirror wires very hard. Nothing happened so he yanked more.  He was discouraged and left me to finish job.  Today, I finally got the old wires to dislodge where ever they were and out they came, unplugged.  I went fishing after removing panel below steering wheel, window panel by front windshield and have a little access where the old mirror was.  I am thinking it is hooked or caught on something right below the left side of dash by speaker of in front of  that.  I can follow wires I believe should have the plug on them but can't lift dash enough  to set them free.  I may be totally wrong.  My speedometer stopped working so may have pulled wires for that too ...I want to be able to call my uncle and tell him I fixed it so he doesn't feel so bad.
