2000 Chrysler Town and Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We bought this van after not having a
vehicle forany years. Just got our license
back. We are discouraged though. Replaced
a water pump. New battery. That night lights
got left on. Next morning it started no
problems. Drove a few miles. Stopped at a
gas station. Turned van off. Tried cranking.
Would crank but not start. Please help. We
geniunely thank you. We have exhausted
Google just not mechanically inclined. We
don't trust the mechanics around here.

The car started, ran for a second then died. Second try, ran for a second then died. The third time the gauges would not do anything but the car had power in the battery. We researched and found where we needed to touch up the sauder points on the head circuit board behind the gauges, and now gauges work. Now the car cranks bit won't start. Also, the eatx shutdown relay clicks whenever the van is trying to start and also the auto shutdown clicks when the car is trying to start. And sometimes the eatx shutdown relay clicks continually when the key isn't turned to the accessory position.
