Chrysler Sebring Convertible: how do you repair the seat belt chime that won't shut off

Asked by Apr 21, 2017 at 02:52 PM about the 2006 Chrysler Sebring Touring Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Dealer has replaced belt twice claiming a code has been shorted out. Chime
will stop if buckle is pushed and held closed but starts again when released.

1 Answer

Problem fixed by replacement of the Lower seat belt w/ latch. (after replacing 2 that didn't work). Mechanic stated that there is a code needed to for warning light/chime to function. 1st try apparently shorted, 2nd try didn't work, 3rd belt accepted the code.
