i have an 07 pontiac grand prix, the heater is blowing cool air and the temp guage indicates the engine is running to hot. Is this a themostat issue or coolant level issue or something else?

if the cars over heating a new thermostat would be one of the first things , the coolant level is up there right ?

Sounds like low coolant to me.
