Replace the lift rod(s).
You might try to clean and lube them with WD 40. Start shopping for struts.
Lubing will not prevent them from staying extended. This is caused by loss of internal pressure and replacement is the way to fix the issue. This is common on 10+ yer old vehicles and is easy and cheap to fix.
