Would a oil die used for spotting leaks cause problems in the engine? I had a "GM dealer put it in my car without asking and now my car has a ruduced engine light with traction?

I had no problems with the engine until A "reputible" dealer put a additive in my
engine to spot oil leaks, he did so without asking. Now I have reduced Engine
light along with service traction light. I will be taking in to have the codes ran
on it. But could the oil leak additive done anything to damage my car? And
cause this problem.
