How to remove a brake booster

4 Answers

Do you mean remove to replace or remove to eliminate it from brake system? Are you asking where it is? You have to take off master cylinder, brake lines, vacuum hoses, and unbolt it and toss it in the weeds. Then replace... it's not so simple to just eliminate if it has failed.

I need to do the same thing.. But Firestone where I live costs about 300 to replace and I was just wanting to see steps on how to go about this process. (When I am trying to stop I hear lots of air in the pedal and it gets hard to push down because what I assume that the break booster is like its loosing air and the has to be the problem) pretty scary and I found a booster for 50-100 bucks online and I figured if I got info on it then I'd be able to do it myself. Thanks!
