My Wife's 2007 Dodge 3.8L Grand Caravan Doesn't Heat Up

Asked by Kyle11977 Dec 24, 2016 at 11:41 AM about the 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife started complaining that she wasn't getting heat in her 2007 Grand Caravan. I checked it, noticed that the coolant was low, and topped it off. Two weeks later, she had the same complaint. I took it to a local shop, and they said the radiator was cracked. I replaced the radiator, hoses, and thermostat, flushed the coolant, and replaced her stock radiator cap with a pressure release cap. Now, it is averaging 35-45 degrees Fahrenheit, and the van will barely heat up at all! Worse yet, I can touch the bare headers after 30 minutes of operation and they are barely warm! Any thoughts?

I’m not sure cause I’m not a mechanic but my van didn’t have heat either and would have heat after the car warmed up for like 15-20 secs... and my mechanic looked at and said my thermostat was stuck open so he changed it and I had heat so this might be your problem too and it’s a very cheap part to replace
