Transmission Whine

Asked by USSWillyr Feb 05, 2011 at 07:43 PM about the 2007 Hyundai Azera Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently bought a used Azera Limited and I'm hearing what sounds like a whine from the transmission. I say transmission because the frequency of the whine correlates with the speed and shifting of the transmission. Anyone else find this?

I have a 2006 Azera. I experienced the whinning sound when I first started the car after it has been sitting a while. After it warms up the sound goes away but was always there at cold start up. I took it to the dealership and they told it me it was the transmission. $2800 dollars lighter and a new transmission and the problem was fixed. I am not %100 sure I believe them when they said nothing else could be done except replace the transmission - hindsight is 20/20
