Won't start after running out of gas

6 Answers

Can you hear the fuel pump running with key on? If not, you might have burned up the pump running out of gas. It tries to pump and the gas is the coolant for the pump. That's a MAYBE, just because you can't hear it does NOT mean it's burnt up. Or bleed air from fuel rail

If fuel pump is working, with at least 5 gallons of gas in it, turn on key to run but don't start--COLD engine, gas will escape. Push on the stem in this. Click image

I have replaced the fuel pump and filter. So I will try to bleed the line.

I took the plenum off and clean the injectors. Cylinders 3-6 were full of gas. I dried them out and changed the plugs and wires and reassembled. It started right up only to sound like cylinders 1-2 were knocking and not firing. It stalled and wouldn't restart. Took it apart again and cylinders 3-6 were full of fuel again. Could the computer be causing this?
