Replaced drivers seat with a new GM one. After two months after one year warranty, the other also doesn't work. $$$$ I invested. What is one to do? Seat doesn't move back or forward.

Asked by Guru9W56Y Jun 13, 2017 at 11:37 AM about the 2006 Buick Lucerne V8 CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So unhappy with my Lucerne electric driver's seat. Spent a fortune having it
replace with a new motor (GM part) and now the second one is not working.
Dealer charges amounting to over a thousand at this point.

Your problem might not be the seat but bad wiring. If the motors are not getting 12v the motors might not handle the load or burn out. You might consider taking it to a automotive electrical shop and have them look at it....Buick dealers are good at replacing parts, not fixing problems.
