The Brake assist and traction control light is on but the brakes work fine, what is wrong?

ABS sensor most likely is bad. need to double check with scanner tool.

I had a similar issue before come to find out it was my alternator

Traction light , Brake System and ABS was on. Car died on me. Got a new battery day later happened again. Its was my alternator..once replaced everything went away.
