Question type: Car Customization

My wife has a 2006 Outback 2.5i Limited. When we purchased the car, we wanted the in-dash nav but they didn't offer without going up to a higher in model so we passed on it. The question I have is, can I go back and get the factory in-dash gps nav system installed? My wife is always getting lost. In addition, the in-dash storage area (above the info console) is useless...you can't put anything in it becasue it get's hot.

I don't believe you will be able to use the factory unit, since the wiring, etc., would already be installed in the higher-end model. You would be better off to get an aftermarket unit and mount the screen somewhere out of the way where you can see it but it won't get as hot.
