Asked by Walmart Oct 07, 2018 at 01:43 PM about the 1997 Subaru Impreza L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was cruising in my 1997 subaru impreza and it
just shut off so u put it in a neutral while cruising
and tried to start it again but nothing. It tries to kick
over but it wont. I tried taking off my cold air intake
and spraying starter fluid in while trying to start it
and nothing happens. What could I try to diagnose
it?

Check for fuel and spark. When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump hum?

Yes I do. Even if it was the pump, it would start with starting fluid being sprayed into the cold air intake right?

I tried taking off the cold air intake and spraying it directly spraying it into the throttle body with no luck as well
