Why does my service airbag stay on

You are not alone, this is common, It's a load of crap also. my seats not wet and teh sensor works sometimes and sometimes not, sometiomes it will shut off while we are driving! It should be a recall issue and fixed for free if you ask me. It is total crap that in this car this a supposed SAFTY device woudl be going on and off like this. I believe it is just a bad part, in genral, it should be a part that never wears out and it's not, I have heard of this on new cars as well.

Had the same problem with my 07 Torrent. Air bag light on drivers dash was on and the passanger seat light on dash was OFF, would not activate when someone was sitting on seat. Took it to GM and they said to bring it into shop and diagnos was $135., and then could give me an estimate on the repair cost. The repair on the web from GM would be around $900-$1000. The problem with the passenger seat air bar bag is not functional, it also disables the drivers seat airbag. Total safety disaster. The car is now worth $4000 so I'm not going to spend the money to fix this problem. Found a website ( airbag360 ) and they manufacture a device that overrides the passenger seat sensor. It turns on the passenger seat air bag ON all the time, which also activates the drivers air bag. The divice uses factory harness so it is plug and play. Works as describle, NO airbag light on dash and passanger seat occupied on dash. Down side is both air bags will go off in a collision. Up side drivers side will also depoly. Win Win Would recommend this fix for anyone with the same problem. airbag360 cost $99. with shipping. Did not have to restart the cars computer.
