Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put on new brake pads changed the rotor on drivers side, changed A arm bushings on both sides, it stopped the vibration on the front from the bad rotor, now I have a brake noise on driver side, like it sounds like a car with bad brakes clanging and screeching , took it all apart didn't see any issue put it back, same thing. the caliper went in ok seemed alright,  but a hellva noise. what do you think.

Did you use some anti-squeal lube on the back side of the brake pads. Your not the only one a guy down my road drives one and I see him everyday, can not miss him, I know he is coming without even seeing the HHR. It grinds, squeaks, thumps, rattles ect.

Yes the pack of anti whatever, on the shelf at auto zone, for 1.50. I just put my old brakes back on. From the other side. They were half or more still doing the same thing. Could it be the caliper, it went in ok but looks real rough,

My concern is if its mounted correctly. Maybe its the back plate or some other part dragging around.

Clanging kinda sound loose or broken parts, may need a install rebuild kit or mounting bracket hardware. Could you be hearing wheel bearing?

It's only when push breaks. Double checked and took off breaks and rotor and redid everything. To TQ specs. It's squeking for a couple sec s after releasing the pedal.

Then its the brake pads I believe. May not can stop it. If it functions good otherwise. I have had metallic brakes on my truck for years and the front make noises too and its all mounted correctly too, Although I am about to do a full brake rebuild (already done the back), I am replacing the calipers, Hubs, Bearings, brackets, Rotors, Drums, all hardware and the master cylinder too not because of the squeak but because my OEM master cylinder applies pressure to the system while driving and crystallized the pads & rotor/drum metal and I just want all new parts for everything else since I will have to remove them and its a 1998 model.
