Look under the hood for a dipstick marker "TRANS or TRANS FLUID". Sometimes the handle is black and other times I have seen them in yellow. It will be there if you look. Check in your Owners Manual or an online version of the Owners Manual if you don't have one.

I have read to fill the transmission on the 2007 HhR you have to look for the vent cap. Remove that and you can filll it that way. I know about checking the fluid on that car with the check plug. Right next to the drain plug.
