Caravan will not start

Asked by GuruR65CK Feb 15, 2020 at 10:46 AM about the 2007 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Dodge Caravan has intermittent starting problem.
Van normally starts right up.  When it does not:
Turn key to on position, lights are on.  Turn to start and nothing happens, no
click, nothing, lights are still on.
If you wait 20 minutes, it will start right up.
This is happening more often and it happened yesterday and after waiting
more than 20 minutes, it still will not start.

Sounds like the starter is going bad but vefore u replace ut, follow these steps. Check the battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight, don't forget the one by the starter. If cables are ok, check battery voltage,it should be minimum 12.4. check voltage signal at the starter solenoid as you try to start it, if voltage is present and still doen't start, replace starter. If no voltage present, trace back to, relay, neutral switch or ignition switch. It's not the fuse since it's intermittent problem
