Hello, please help me. No one seems to know my
problem. I have no check engine light, no codes.
Changed my spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter,
thermostat, air filter, throttle body. I lost count.
Transmission fluid and filter. My car has 70k miles
and it doesn't accelerate the way it used to. Each
time I put my foot down on the gas it accelerates
differently. Mind you no matter how fast I was going
highway or not, I never had to pass 2k rpm. Now it
goes to 2500 to shift so I can hit 20mph. When I hit
the gas my revs climb and my car goes nowhere
but when I remove my foot and hit it again it'll go
like it used to or it'll downshift and launch. Me being
at 1/4 or 1/3 the most on the gas. On the highway
my car doesn't seem to want to pass 2000rpm at
70mph it's like limited. Please help me. Car had 29k
miles last year and all was well until I got hit in my
rear wheel and my axle shaft was bent so it had to
be replaced. Do you think this can be a misaligned
rear axle or a bad rear differential? After the repairs
when I hit the gas my wheels span and I heard a
loud crunch in my rear differential. But I have no
whining. Maybe a very very very low purr

Loud crunch? That's where I would start looking first. Have rear dif inspected.

Can this cause my car to go in limp mode or can this drastically reduce my acceleration?

So this probably isnt helpful at all anymore but I was experiencing the same thing but a mis fire in pot 2. I replaced the vvt solenoid and plug due to oil corrupting the plug. I also replaced the coil pack in pot 2 as it was dead. A good way of checking if a coil pack is dead is switching out in thise case pot 2s coil pack for pots 3s coil pack, unhooking the battery for 5 minutes and seeing if the codes for the mis fire have switched from pot 2 to pot 3. (This can be done in any order and doesn't have to be pot2-pot3) If the codes have switched its most likely a bad coil pack thats making your pot mis fire how ever... Spark plug and wires can also throw the same code. Best way to negate the spark plug being a problem is to put a new plug into the pot and run it for a while, you should see firing signs on the plug meaning its working as normal. Next you should do a compression test on all your pots (cylinders) to make sure each pot is firing at the right compression. In most cases I have found the coil pack a cat solenoid to be bad and need to be replaced. I hope this helps anyone who is still wondering about having a shakey, hesitant, and just bad sounding trailblazer. This process worked for my 2002 chevy trailblazer LT 4wd 4.2L straight 6
