You can go a little while more, like another 5,000 miles, but i would change the oil as soon as possible. you can have the oil changed for under $40.00...

14,000 miles overdue on oil change?? AND the oil light is now on? What exactly are you waiting for?

I would change it and then change it again in 2000 miles and then again to clean the engine out.

I personally would you recommend pushing oil change limit because it just causes more wear and tear on your vehicle I just crossed 3,000 miles on my 97 Suburban so I figure it's only life probably had something to do with my attention to the maintenance and care of it
