1994 Chevy Astro 4.3 shuts down while driving

The check engine light came on a couple months
ago and stayed on. Last week the van started
shutting down like out of gas,but would restart a
while later. Now it won't even start. Help!!!

I'm no Astro expert, but if the check engine light came on, then a code was generated in the computer. It could be a bunch of things but the code would help you figure out where to start. Of course, someone has to read the code. Auto Zone will do it for free, but you have to get there. Repair shops will too, but many charge and you must get there, unless you have a buddy who will come to you. Good luck
