2007 Ford Five Hundred CVT transmission failure?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the 500 decided to simply not go the other day.  Pulled out of the drive way
and engine would rev but the car would barely move.  I pulled it back in and
parked it.  Now I go out and shift through gears and nothing engages.  Is it a
total transmission failure or can I check something else before I give up on
this thing?

All you can do is check the transmission fluid level. Sounds like it is toast.

You'll have to have it diagnosed by a trans expert. The Ford 500's CVT's weren't the most robust designs and are no longer being manufactured.
