2007 Ford Five Hundred CVT transmission failure?

So the 500 decided to simply not go the other day.  Pulled out of the drive way
and engine would rev but the car would barely move.  I pulled it back in and
parked it.  Now I go out and shift through gears and nothing engages.  Is it a
total transmission failure or can I check something else before I give up on
this thing?

All you can do is check the transmission fluid level. Sounds like it is toast.

You'll have to have it diagnosed by a trans expert. The Ford 500's CVT's weren't the most robust designs and are no longer being manufactured.
