Bad AC compressor if properly filled with freon.

Is the compressor clutch clicking on ? If not check power to compressor and if pressure readings are good check high low switch.

The correct word is high low pressure switch located on the accumulator. It has two wires going to it sometimes you can lightly tap on switch and if compressor clutch clicks on switch is sticking.

It will do the same on high ... usually if it's low the freon low switch prevents the clutch from engaging. You are asking for trouble working on A/C without gauges because you will need to change your drawers if the line separates with you close by
