Battery died and now check engine line is coming on

Asked by Aug 16, 2017 at 08:22 AM about the 2007 Saturn VUE Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought my daughter this car 3 days ago.  She had a
dead battery last night, took it to autozone after we
jumped it, and they said the battery and alternator are
fine.  Started up perfect this morning but by the time my
daughter got to school the check engine light was on.  I'm
worried it won't start again.  Any suggestions on what to
check?  Thank you

Pull the positive terminal off battery and see if it Sparks as you touch it. If it does something inside the car is draining the battery. Some like an aftermarket radio

then scan for the fault codes since the CEL is on. A used Vue will be a headache of issues BTW/
