my 2002 saturn SC2 automatic wont shift down as i approche a red light or stop sign just stalls out.

my car shifts thru all gears ok' but some times it wont down shift as i come to a stop. it
stays in 3rd or 4rd then dies out.then i restart the car a few time to take off again. is thier
anything i can do to fix this probelem ? i all ready changed the valve body but it didnt
make a difference still doing what it was doing befor..

I don't know anything about your saturn trans but is the switch / sensor that changes the gear -in- the valve body? Or is it external / on top / outside of the trans? You may need to take this to an actual saturn FORUM to get the best info.
