Check engine light is on

Asked by Raven May 12, 2016 at 03:47 PM about the 2001 Saturn S-Series 3 Dr SC2 Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Saturn Sc2 has the check engine light on. There have been no
problems with the car, except that stupid light.  I took it to Advance Auto,
and had them hook it up to their hand-held computer, and it said it was a:
"Camshaft Position Sensor" that needed to be replaced. So far, I can't find
a THING on that, nor where to buy it. Are they for real or not? What else
could cause that light to come on?

If they did a code scan on it and that's the only code that came up then that's probably what the problem is you could buy yourself a scanner and scan the car yourself to make sure. Yes there are other things that can trigger that light to come on but it's usually a specific code that comes up that's the problem so they're probably correct
