Shifting problems

I have a 1995 tahoe  4wd 5.7 lt.ima having a
shifting problem.my serpentine belt busted and
hit the gas collector vaccum hose when i fixed
it i have a problem shifting into 3rd and 4th.1st
goes good.shifts to 2nd easy but when it tries
to go to 3rd it revs high and loses
power.aometimes if i floor it itll shift into 3rd.if i
manually  put it in 3rd itll go good thwn try and
shift to 3th and rev up again.can anyone help
me.not really skilled as a mechanic but do
basic work.let me know.thanks in advance.

I don't think your problems are related unless you ruptured a trans cooler line. It sounds like your trans needs rebuilt. This is commonly what happens when they fail, you loose 3rd and 4th

Yeah that would figure.thought maybe it was something simple.thanks for the advice
