I have a 1999 saturn sl1 that has no power on
acceleration and is spot and sputtering. Replaced
plugs and intake gasket

sounds like a clogged exhaust,let it run and see if any of the exhaust turns orange.

Have you checked for any codes I would do that first check to see if you have any codes
