Windshield wiper is out, please help!

Asked by Stephaniescar Jan 11, 2018 at 01:54 PM about the 1998 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SL Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 Saturn SL and the windshield wiper
went out today and it's pouring down rain, I still
have to drive 2 1/2 -3 more hours. It made a noise
before it went out, like a motor going out but
before I buy a new $60 motor I want to make sure
it's not the fuse so I went ahead and bought the
fuse and a new relay. I tried the new relay and I put
a new fuse but I don't believe I put the fuse in the
right spot. The pictures I see online that show me
where that certain fuse is aren't for my car because
it's not set up that way either of my fuse boxes
are,set up. I have one under the hood and one to
the left side by my feet on the front passenger side
of the car. Can anyone help?

I was told that I needed a 20 fuse so I changed the only fuse I had that was a 20. Is that maybe where I went wrong?
