How can I bypass heater core? Or can I drive with bad core? As long as I keep heater off????

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

In middle of replacement of water heater
and thermostat. Heater core pours water in
floor bad and I have no idea how to bypass
and no money to replace right now.
Somebody please give me good advice

Undo hoses in engine compartment. Then either plug the hoses going to and from engine or attach jumper hose from one of the ports on the engine to the other one.

So pretty much any hoses going to heater core i need to block those off? The engine compartment??? I have the hose going to thermostat off. Please explain what hoses to block. The ones going into dash??

Yes. Only the two going to the dash. And if possible just reroute hoses so that they just make a loop to and from the engine where they hook up at.
