Syncros are worn, you could either overhaul it or replace it, if the case and the gears are still usable an overhaul shouldn't be too horrible on the pocket book, or you could R&R a good used one, but get one with a warranty so if it does go bad you can get another tranny and just be out the labor, and finally there are rebuilds out there so that would be another option. It all depends on if you want to keep the obsolete vehicle and just how much you are willing to spend on it.
