2001 Saturn L200 flickering dash lights

Asked by TannerOS Oct 23, 2018 at 08:25 PM about the 2001 Saturn L-Series 4 Dr L200 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got a used Saturn a couple days ago
(knowing it had problems) and I can’t seem to
figure out what is causing the lights to flicker.
I went and picked up a BCM from a junkyard
that looked in good shape and switched
them out and it did the same exact thing
(except for the fact that the car wouldn’t even
start now but that’s actually the BCM from
the junkyard so it’s to be expected). The fact
that it did the exact same thing bothers me
though. Some more information; the dash
lights actually stayed solid when I removed
the power fuse to the BCM on the drivers
side fuse box. The car runs fine other than
that but I have flashing lights and no gauges
help?

Take the dimmer switch out, take the dial apart, and clean it with a cotton swap with rubbing alcohol. I jad the same issue and this fixed it.

Take the dimmer switch out.. i got rid of the dimmer mechanism by closing the circuit on the lowest resistance setting (most bright) by soldering it using jumber.
