Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So after i washed my car and wiped down the inside i tried to start it to go home and it
just started acting weird the lights would flicker and dim and then they would be fine and
my cd player was acting weird and my clock reset and everything dimmed and flickered
and it wouldn't start.  I'm sure when i wiped it down in the inside i was pushing all the
buttons but would that cause it.  Tried to jump it and that stop the flickering but it just
would click.  Any ideas??

Battery is dead. Have it charged. Having the doors open for extended periods of time can run the battery to low to even start with a jump start. Were you listening to radio when cleaning the inside? If so charge the battery and you will be good to go.

No the doors weren't open and i wasn't listening to the radio. The lights in the car will flicker and then be bright like they are suppose to be and then i turn it over and nothing and everything goes black. I mean it could be the battery or something electrical. I tried to jump it and gave it some time on the cables and just a click sound occurred.

What you are describing sounds like the tale tale signs of a dead battery or loose connections.

If in USA take it to auto zone. They will fully charge it for free. Only takes about 45 minutes. They will also be able to tell if its bad. Don't just run buy a battery till you are positive yours is bad.

So i went to Auto Zone and the battery has 100% charge. All the lights in the car act weird sometimes turning on and sometimes flickering or just dying. Then if i try to start it, it just goes click and all lights on the dash go out. When I have it in the run position right before you crank it all the lights work, radio, heater, etc.... but then when i go to crank it, it just clicks and all lights die. Could it be the starter, alternator, any ideas?

It was the starter and they also said i needed a new battery. It has been working well so i hope that was it. Thanks for your help.
