Dealer said alternator, wires, connections are all fine on diagnostics. It started for them every time. It only doesn't start like once a week, then out of blue-like a day later-it starts back up. I've been stranded 5 times in 3 weeks. We just picked from dealer last night and it worked fine. Tried this morning it wouldn't start...ugh...

You know, Escalades are money pits. Just don't know what to suggest that the dealer hasn't checked out.

I just checked manual and it looks like my key is faulty...if this is the case-they only make 9 keys per vehicle. If this indeed is the issue...I have to find a dealer that services pass-key III system. Yes-MONEY PITS! Wouldn't the dealers know this?!

Your dealer should have checked the key for you. The problem is, whenever there's an intermittent anomaly, it makes it very difficult to diagnose. If they can't duplicate the problem, they likely won't reach a solution. That can happen irrespective of make or model of car. If you complain to your dealer, they should give you a break on the key replacement (their price). And by the way, I know many people that happily drive Escalades for many years.

My Cadillac Escalade has been an awesome car but for the last 6 months it may or may not start. No one can diagnose it because after sitting for a few hours or even a day it will start back up so it's very frustrating. I will say this about Cadillac dealerships, they are much better than Jaguar. I own a 2016 F type the entire organization seems clueless. I hope I can figure out the issue with my Escalade soon because I prefer to keep it.

That is funny Denise because we had Jaguar too and it was a total lemon, we had to get rid of it. My Escalade had to have the key system replaced (sorry, can't remember the name of it) maybe it was the starter or the ignition switch? We had to get new keys. This fixed the problem with our Cadillac not starting. Never have had a problem since. We hd to have the dealer do this.

Cadillac keys have a "call, respond" chip inside that as a security measure will not allow the vehicle's motor to start. Chips get damage due to impact ie dropping keys over time.
