Ignition switch key cylinder
Lost the keys to a 2001 gmc Sonoma 4.3 quad
cab. We bought a new ignition switch key cylinder I
drilled the old one out like I have done several
times and the cyclinder will not release. I have
done this several times before on other vehicles
and it wasn't that bad of a job this thing will not
release. What am I doing wrong can anybody help
Is there any way to get to the release with a drill bit or pee grinder?
You'll now have to be towed to your local GM dealer for repair! When you get the lock cylinder out and the new one in the security system won't recognize the new key so the engine won't start! The days of being able to do this type of thing are over. HTH. -Jim
