Tahoe won't fire over

Asked by Tyler Mar 18, 2018 at 04:02 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced starter, distributor, crank
shaft sensor, coil. I'm still getting no fire.
Prior to these problems thought the
issue was the battery was to small and
not getting enough volts. Got a bigger
one and then it wouldn't fire over at all
anymore! Anyone have any
suggestions?

I'm confused as to if it isn't turning over or the engine will not fire. Like no combustion event takes place? If the bigger battery won't turn it over then it might be a bad bigger battery

It turns over I'm just not getting any spark from my new coil had someone say if it's not the ignition control module they don't know what else it could be

Yeah I got a new distributor and I have checked it twice now. An the rotor is turning. I'm getting fuel before I had all this trouble when I got the new battery I could put fuel in the carburator and it would crank but go dead few seconds later. Since then after replacing all these parts I'm now not getting a spark. I've tested the new coil and everything. I'm just lost at this point

Yes there's probably more than 1. You may need to research a electrical schematic.

I took the distributor off and took it back and put a new one on and went ahead and bought ignition control module and thankfully it cranked hopefully won't have any more troubles out of it!

Now after it cranked up I let it run a good 10 mins cut it off and it won't crank back up. I can put fuel in the carburator and it will and I put my hand over the carburator once and it did. could it be something in the throttle body? Any ideas. On this?
