Its better to update the '92 TBI engine, to the '96 SPIDER fuel injection, along with the harness, computer, instrument cluster, etc... a lot less work than rewiring and changing your '96 truck back in time to a '92 design! It can be done IF you wire it correctly, get all the input signals right! Regards

Here are your problems. First, a 92 tbi truck and harness arnt set up to run a transmission like the 4l60e your burb has. The stand alone controller isn't cheap for it either. It's going to be alot of work any way you look at it. Really you should save your time and money, sell the tbi engine and get another used vortec. Even switching the upper end of the vortec motor over will be problematic. You would need the heads as well as the intake and everything on it. But when you change the heads over you will be running a much higher compression ratio due to the differences in heads and pistons. Seriously, save your efforts and get what works. Those engines are easy to come by.
