Blower motor or blower motor resistor

Asked by Lauralee82 Dec 31, 2015 at 07:01 PM about the 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE1 Crew Cab 5.8 ft. 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turned the heat on in my truck I noticed I
didn't hear it blowing when it was on high. No
matter what speed it is set to I have a very weak
stream of heat coming out. I would love to be able
to fix this myself but am not sure where to start. I
assume it's not a fuse because there is air (but
could be wrong). I am not super car savvy so any
help would be greatly appreciated.

It would be the blower motor resistor that is up under the dash by the blower motor somewhere, get the new one so you know what it looks like and ask the guys at the parts store were it may be.

Great instructional videos on YouTube. Look it up. Changed mine a few months ago it's fairly easy

I bought the resistor and changed it, thanks to YouTube . I tested the blower motor before putting everything back together and it worked. Thanks for your answers!
