96 cavalier stalls on freeway

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After a new fuel pump was installed, car stalls on freeway after ~ 5-6 miles when the car reaches operating temps after a cold start. No codes on my scanner, it just "cuts off" and I drift to the breakdown lane...only dash light that's on is battery. I wait 5 minutes, the engine starts and takes me home(18 miles) without any problems. After the pump was installed, I did get codes indicating the camshaft position sensor and the fuel pressure regulator. The code for the fuel pressure regulator went away but, the cps code stayed on, had it replaced and the code went away but, still have the same problem of stalling on the freeway...mechanic can't duplicate the problem because it is intermittent. .....any ideas?

OK, so, I found the culprit via esoteric sources after sifting through 100's of answers on websites with the same problems and a cheap fix came up 3 times...I forget the links but, you can do a search. Here is what worked for me....the engine coolant sensor. After I replaced it, the vehicle hasn't stalled on the freeway for over a month which restored my confidence in the car's reliability which I keep up in an impeccable condition. Hope that this helps someone out there! Cheers!
