I have a 2001 jag s-type the first person looked at it said I will need a throttle body sensor then the other said I need a map sensor, parts are expensive in the Bahamas an I rely need to know which of these I will need. the car starts but when I try to accelerate the engine it will not

the car just do not accelerates but it starts an engine  runs. throttle body sensor or map sensor? lol!

My advice would be check the fuel pressure,to rule out the fuel pump ,before buying unneeded part,s,,if fuel pressure is good,then i would check the crank sensor,then the two listed above,may be bad,but you need to find some one with a scanner to run code,s from the car,to let you know the exact problem with it,but check fuel pressure ,im thinking fuel pump.

Please check your air flow meter or sensor. This is your problem. In most cases you can buy a can of air flow spray cleaner at your local parts store. Problem solved. If you can't fine this sensor. It's located between the throttle body and the aircleaner.
