can the engine be started on a 2004 jaguar x-type 3.0 with the transfer case taken out of it

Asked by Dead_Goldstar May 17, 2016 at 09:50 PM about the 2004 Jaguar S-TYPE 3.0L V6 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This person took out the transfer case and was going to replace it but
decided to sell it instead  but he says that the car cannot be started but says
it runs well. My question is can I start the engine to to insure it does run or I'm
buying a blown engine along with needing a new transfer case as well.

You can certainly start the engine but obviously you wont be able to drive it. Either he doesn't know what he is talking about or he does and you should be careful.

Thank you for answering my question it's very much appreciated it sounds like a bigger job than I want to tackle so I'll probably pass on it. Thanks again
