My 2005 jaguarVDP does the same thing. I have found that manipulating the accelerator will keep it running and then dropping it into gear enables me to drive it until I shut it off and go to restart. Have not found the time to locate the problem yet but presume it is a connection problem somewhere in the computer system.

My 2005 jaguar the DP does the exact same thing. It started only in cold weather but now I’m having that problem with the warm weather.

Found solution to exact same problem...engine mount failure...causes A/C clutch to rest on subframe restricting movement...car will start with starter engaged but once starter disengages car shuts down...test: remove nut holding left side engine mount to subframe...position scissor jack at front left corner of oil pan at block...lift engine 1 inch...start car...ta da...engine stays running...replace engine mounts...
