Buick radio install

I hooked a radio up and installed wire to wire  I put
the re and yellow wire together and the radio comes
on but it stays on what to do

as I remember those have to be separate , one is for memory (yellow)? and is hot at all times (hat) along with headlights ,brake lights , horn .) And the other for power (red) once car's running or accessories , , a quick search should explain it .

^^^ agrees with previous poster. I suspect to have mistakenly hookup the hot wire directly to a source that's always hot. Good Luck..
