Brakes always squeal when I put it in reverse.

My car only has 6K miles on it.  Whenever it sits, even for a few hours in warm weather, the brakes squeal when I put it in reverse.  My Toyota dealer said that after a car sits even for a little while, brake dust builds up and that is the result.  I am not buying that.  I have had 4 brand new vehicles and this never happened.  It never even happened when they got old.  That really sounds like a crock to me.  I am ready to take it in, have them remove the tires and check my brakes, low mileage or not.  Please advise.  Thank you!!!

brakes on todays cars are very hard and will squeal, also check to see if emergency break is comptley off.

May be a glaze on the rotors and pads. We saw this a lot at the Dodge dealership. Fix is to ask the dealer to do a light resurface on the rotors and scuff the pads, it should go away. In most cases you probably have disc brakes in the rear, so brake dust doesn't "build up" like it would in drum brakes -- and even in drum brakes, it doesn't "build up" just sitting there.

Thank you so much for your answer. I may be female but I knew that brake dust doesn't keep building up everytime I let the car sit for a few minutes. I was actually surprised that the dealership would tell me that. Thanks alot!!!!
