How durable is the new 2007 elantra. I drive over 60,000 km per year. Would a elantra hold up without too much maintanence? Or should I go with the well known durability of the Corolla?

Hi Gregm, Personally, if I drove 60k per year I would probably go with either a Honda or a Toyota. They seem to last forever. I've had a couple of friends that owned a Hyundai and they ended up trading them in after only 35k (within 3 years). I have a 2003 Honda (with 88k) and it drives like the first day I bought it. i worked at hyundai working on new hyundais for over a year. i would deffinatly go for the toyota corolla!

hyundai is the same as a kia so def go for honda or toyota or even nissan.

The type of stuff these other guys are posting is bunk -- stereotypical of earlier Hyundais perhaps. I owned an Accent and took it over 200,000 miles until the clutch finally started to go. Now I have an Elantra and have 15,000 worry free miles under its belt. Hyundai is every bit as reliable as the top Japanese makes. I say this as one who doesn't drive gently.
