Did you check the freon level in the system because if it is completely empty the system will shut down.

Ok had to ask. There is a High Pressure Switch that screws into the side of the accumulator and it has two wires going to it. Lightly tap on the switch and see if the compressor comes on if it does replace switch.

the compressor is clicking on when I turn the knob. I just had compressor replaced about 2 years ago. my husband is bring home Freon this afternoon and I will tell him all this. My control knob was acting up kind of since I got it 3 years ago. I couldn't turn it all the way up. I would have to turn it back just a hair to the left to get it to come back on for high. Then last week it just stopped all together. so I am in ALABAMA with 100 degree weather sweating like a pig with the windows down. lol. but while im going down the road I can feel cold air coming out of the vents but as soon as I roll them up its an oven in there. so that's why we thought it was the blower not blowing r the resistor. and when I turn the knob the light comes on like it is on but its not

Ok that is a whole lot more information going by what you are saying sounds like the control switch is not working not because there is something wrong with the compressor. If compressor is staying on do not try to add more freon to system.

I just read again in one of your answers that when you turn the knob to A.C the compressor comes on so do you mean that you're blower motor is not working that is the motor that blows air on you when you are in the vehicle.

You have a bad blower motor switch. Does it not work in the heating mode also ?

He took it out and its not touching right inside. if we squeeze it together it touches on the inside and works good. we have got to get a new BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH. lol Thank you sooooo much. took off the blower motor switch and took it apart. it had some kind of corrosion between the knob and the board. we scrapped it off and it works like brand new. so that saved us $100 or so on a new part. But now there is a whistling noises coming out of the vent. do u know have idea what that might be? Its blowing fine now tho on ALL settings. just got the noise now

Your vehicle has a Cabin Air Filter try replacing that. Do not no how to replace on your vehicle but you can Google that question and it may take you to a site and show you how to replace it.
