Oil cap

The piece that my oil cap screws into came out.  We put it
back in and made sure the cap was secure.  Is that
normal???

The oil cap screws into a tube. The tube can be unscrewed and removed. To remove the top engine block cover (it pops off) you have to unscrew and remove the oil cap tube along with the oil cap.
