Car won't start

Asked by Liddlemama Dec 27, 2018 at 01:51 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1997 Cavalier won't start. Its cranking fine but
wont turn over. Battery is fine, fuel pump was
tested and is good. I was severely low on oil but
there was no signs of that until it wouldn't start
when I was trying to leave work. I noticed that
when I was going through trying to figure this issue
out.

Put some oil in it. You should check your engine oil regularly, if that's the oil your talking about? Hope you engine isn't damaged? Are the cranking rpms faster than normal? Sometimes that means there is no compression. If it cranks good but won't start, make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good, have helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes? I can only help with testing.
