Has a timing chain ever failed on a MDX?

Asked by Stevo38 Oct 27, 2013 at 11:08 AM about the 2006 Acura MDX AWD with Touring Package

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 60K miles on a 2006 MDX in States.  Dealer says its time to change timing chain
regardless of miles.  $400.  What's the story?

sounds suspicious to me- and a dealer says this? a timing chain will last a lot longer than a timing belt- you only have 60,000 miles on yours- they can go 4 times longer than that with regular oil changes- is there a known recall/defect on that model? are you sure he said timing CHAIN and not BELT?
